Top 5 – Occupation Ceilings and Invitations February 2020

February invitations are released. Here are few Top 5 charts for February, 2020, showing Occupation Ceilings, Invitations, etc. Below are some of the interesting highlights:

• Invitations for this Subclass 189 continue to total 1,000 (same as previous month), and invitations for Subclass 491 Family Sponsored increased from 300 to 500.
• Top Occupation Ceiling is Registered Nurses at 8,748, but in the total invitations so far, it is ranked only 5th at 441 invitations. In terms of Invitations made in February, it is ranked only 7th at 100, and does not show in the Top 5 February Invitations chart. Although Electricians has the 3rd highest ceiling, there had been 0 invitations in February.
• Top Total Invitations is Software and Applications Programmers at 1,444, and it also topped the chart for the February invitations at 288. The next highest total invitations is Accountants at 491. That’s a 255% gap between the two.
• There is a big difference of 248% between the top 2 February Invitations. The top invitation is for Software and Applications Programmers at 288 and the second top invitation is for Civil engineering Professionals at 116. Previous month’s 2nd top invitation was Database and Systems Administrators, and ICT Security Specialists, but in February, it fell down to 11th place. Four of the top 5 invitations in February are in the ICT group of occupations. ICT occupations continue to dominate the top invitations.
