In Australian migration, you must be under 45 years old to apply for most sponsored work visas. However, there are exemptions to this rule. You must meet certain criteria to apply for such an exemption. Take the visa Subclass 186 – Employer Nomination Scheme, for example. One of the exemptions applies if you are a medical practitioner on a Subclass 457 or 482 visa, and you have worked in Australia for at least 3 years, and of those 3 years, you have worked in regional Australia for at least 2 years. There are other categories, and one of those relates to Subclass 457 or 482 visa holders who are high income earners.
Please note that these exemptions do not apply to points-tested skilled work visas such as Subclass 189, 190, and 491. For these visas, you must be under 45 years old.
At Tanson Migration, we can check if one of these age exemptions applies to you, and assist you in submitting an application for such an exemption.
